Please note that the architect’s drawing shown below is not an accurate representation of the playground as it exists today. As is common in many construction projects, various changes and accommodations were necessary to comply with safety concerns or unexpected issues. The play structures shown in the original drawings here are only examples of the play structures and apparatus available for the park. Final selection was based on what was available at the time the park is built.

Sports Play Area

Triple Hoop

  • Played with a ball
  • Throw ball in top and it will come out in one of three directions
  • Each direction is numbered 1, 2, or 3 which becomes the score for each play
  • Element of chance and surprise
  • Low skill base eliminates competitiveness
  • Constructive for connitive and learning disabilities
  • Promotes counting and memory development

  • Appropriate for all abilities


Intermediate Play Area
U-Bounce

  • Can be used sitting or standing
  • Slip resistant, shock absorbing rubber platform
  • Bouncing motion

Spring Riders

  • Spring riders are located in mulched surface play area

  • ATV and Bulldozer do NOT have back support

  • May not be appropriate for some physical abilities


Tot-Lot Play Area
Firehouse Play Structure

  • Architecture of play structure fits with Urban Theme: picket fence panels, storefront window. and tall arches with lots of poles
  • Talk tubes to connect the fire truck and firehose
  • Promote imagination and theme play
  • Soft-fall paving makes play structure totally accessible
  • Guardians with mobility devices can access and interact with children
  • Has a gear panel and crawl tube
  • Freestanding bells mounted to a post can act as a firebell
  • Theme play promotes imagination and is a positive exercise for people with learning and cognitive disabilities
  • Physical interaction to sound is stimulating to people with hearing disabilities

  • Appropriate for all abilities



Fire Truck Play Structure
